Top ten classic disney movies

Walt Disney films, for over 80 years, have been watched and loved by adult and children alike. The Disney franchise has arguably produced some of the finest animated movies of the 20th and early 21st centuries. This article lists, in the author's opinion, Disney's top 10 classics, in descending order.

10 - The Fox and the Hound (1981)
The Fox and the Hound follows the fun filled adventures of Todd and Copper. Society and tradition dictates that with one being a fox and the other a hunting dog, they should be enemies, a notion they fight against in the film. 9 - Bambi (1942)
Bambi has brought many an adult and child alike to tears through the years. The story of Bambi and his rabbit friend Thumper as they endure the impact of Man on the environment will touch the coldest of hearts. 8 - 101 Dalmations (1961)
This is a story that every dog lover will know. This excellent film follows the struggles of one family to keep together their large litter of puppies against the predatory Cruella De Ville. 7 - Pinocchio (1940)
A timeless classic, following the adventures of Pinocchio, a wooden boy created by Italian inventor Geppetto, and his insect friend Jiminy Cricket. Pinocchio longs to live like a normal boy in this film. 6 - Lady and the Tramp (1955)
An unlikely love story between a classy cocker spaniel and a homeless mutt, Lady and the Tramp's adventures remind us all that social convention should not get in the way of love.

Unconventional affection here again, as Belle makes a deal with the Beast to release her father from his captivity. It results in love between the two, transforming the Beast's life. 4 - Toy Story (1995)

Ariel the Mermaid longs to be like the humans, to be able to walk on dry land with two dry feet. In this adventure, she is prepared to make deals with unsavoury characters to fulfill her ambitions. 2 - Aladdin (1992)
Down on his luck, Aladdin meets a magic genie who tries to help him capture the heart of the beautiful Jasmine, who is originally destined only to marry a prince. 1 - The Lion King (1994)
This follows Simba from cub to Lion, as he fights with friends Timon and Pumba to avenge his father's death and reclaim his rightful title as King of the Jungle.
